C.A.P.E Partner’s Conference 2009

Planning for the 2009 C.A.P.E. Partners’ Conference is underway. The conference runs from 12 to 14 May 2009 at the Old Mutual Conference Hall at Kirstenbosch Gardens - so please save these dates.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Conservation Connections”, focusing on the links and networks we form in undertaking our biodiversity conservation work. Examples might be:

  • conservation connections (collaborative governance, partnerships of government and civil society, integrated management of natural resources)
  • spatial connections (corridors, landscape initiatives, biodiversity plans, mainstreaming)
  • connections in communities (partnerships, community projects, job creation, small business development)
  • learning connections (sharing lessons and models, best practice and tools, capacity building, environmental education)

This year, the C.A.P.E Partner’s Conference is also linking with the the Succulent Karoo Ecosystem Programme (SKEP) to present the joint C.A.P.E. /SKEP Conservation Marketplace aimed at bringing potential funders and projects together to develop future linkages.
