C.A.P.E. Action for People and the Environment (C.A.P.E.) is a partnership of government and civil society aimed at conserving and restoring the biodiversity of the Cape Floristic Region and the adjacent marine environment, while delivering significant benefits to the people of the region.

2010 Fynbos Conservation Awards were presented to deserving individuals, who have made exceptional contributions to biodiversity conservation in the Cape Floristic Region, at a function in the first week of May. A funding section on this website was the outcome of the marketplace process at the 2009 CAPE/SKEP CONSERVATION MARKETPLACE where donors and project proponents met and showcased their work. ______________________________________________________________

An Environmental and Resource Economics Conference: "Environment & Economy: Mind the Gap" was held on 21 and 22 May 2009 in Cape Town - a CAPE event hosted by SANBI, with partnership and sponsorship from the Botanical Society of South Africa, DWAF, Working for Water, WWF, Table Mountain Fund and ASSET Research.

The 2009 C.A.P.E. Project Developers' Forum, held on 19 and 20 March at the City of Cape Town's Rondevlei Nature Reserve, focused on facilitating project development - from idea to proposal. The 33 participants explored questions around what funders are looking for, and how to improve the impact of projects on both conservation and livelihoods.

The C.A.P.E. partnership held a Landscape Initiatives Knowledge Exchange (LIKE) in November 2009 with the theme Moving towards sustainability.The presentations and documents from the event are available as downloadable PDFs.
